Back in March 2020, one of my normal hangout places (like so many other resteraunts) shut down due to the pandemic. Two months later when it reopened with limited capactiy, I gave an envelope to one of the waitresses who was out of work those two months. In the envelope was $25, and a note saying that, while I realized it wouldn't cover those 2 months she was out of work, I knew it would be a small help to her. Not only did she come up to me and verbally express her gratitude, she tagged me on Facebook and thanked me for her kindness, saying that it made her whole day. (She started the status with, "What a warm welcome back!")
