I feel like a wallet is so overdone. If a man has a wallet which he probably does,he wont need another one. Talking from experience of buying wallets for several partners. In my opinion anything like a man's'valet', leather wallet etc..is played out and even a bit tacky. I feel that a gift should be a bit more thoughtful..

Since my family and closest friends don't appreciate my time, effort, and kind wallet I have stopped buying expensive things and just gift out gift cards depending on what they are into. ie. movies, music, makeup, perfumes, etc. On special occasions, I do go through my small inventory which I already have, such as women's wallet, men's wallet, men's and women's watch, boys gift set or young girl's gift set. This isn't a bad list. I seriously love high class items like really lovely candles and usually don't buy them. However, ladies be cautious when gifting men gifts. I gifted a old bf a nice present that I spent time and money on and he got me a seriously inexpensive gift - if I remember correctly it was drug store socks and wrapped it poorly.. After that I never gifted anything to my boyfriends. I only buy stuff for my close friends & family that I know well and my husband.

Similar to olive oil, real, good vanilla extract! It’s expensive enough but won’t break the bank and such a lovely gift for someone who cooks! Artificial vanilla just tastes stupid after the real deal, it elevates every dessert you make.

I live in switzerland, the ultimative chocolate land. I also work in a store that sells pralines. Whenever those are on sale i buy almost all of them, its great quality and expensive chocolate that usually costs a lot more. I know thats not a great meaningful gift, but its something many people appriciate more as a gift that you bring not for christmas or birthdays, but for occasions where you were invited for dinner or just visit them. Just as a small gift for "regular" people its great.

You can also gift an experience, like tickets to the ballet of a concert. The worst gift I ever had from a wealthy couple was a calendar with cats on it... and this was supposed to be a christmas present cos I was hosting them in my house on christmas eve. It's not about the amount of money you spend on items, but the thought behind it. Instead of a calendar I would have been thrilled with some loose leaf tea or a nice scent candle.
