There is a woman on my feed who is so sweet but I realized after following her, she always posts shopping trips, LV, Chanel..jewelry. She does earn a good living and her husband does also. Now the bew thing is filming constantly about a room add on and inground pool install. Most of my wealthy friends post delicious cooking, family, their pets. That's about it! You never see their cars in their photos.

I think another don’t might apply to a lot of vacation posts. I’m from a tropical island with a lot of tourism. I know which regions are tourist traps, I know where you go on the island for luxury experiences (food, outdoors, culture). If you have a big enough social media following, especially if it developed in university, someone like me might follow you. It’s terribly amusing to see my peers on social media trying to show off (as opposed to the people who aren’t showing off and are just having a pleasant time) when they visit, because when I visit home, my goals are to sleep in, play with my dog, eat my favourite foods, and exercise with my brother.

Wrt cars, my little brother’s a semi-pro photographer. He’s still in high school. He’s shot photos of a Ferrari-a lovely photoshoot, balancing it with a sunset. I don’t know enough about cars to say what kind. The location he tagged suggests that it’s a rental; I know that the friend he tagged has the means to rent if not own a Ferrari. i.e. it’s not *that* hard to get access to these cars temporarily

One never knows a person's situation. So I always give the benefit of the doubt after I went through my own experience. Maybe the purse was a Chrisfmas gift. They may be great at doing their own nails at home. They may have bought the clothes at thrift or a yard sale or had it before falling on hard times. When I was a military wife and mom, my child had a health condition that required very expensive special formula while we worked through resolving the health issue. I temporarily needed WIC which had support center on the military base. It was temporary but the first time I went to use, it would figure the woman behind me at the civilian grocery store started yelling at me with my two small children in tow as soon as we both were out of the grocer, about how dare I be on any assistance while dressed nice and driving a nice car (that we bought used and saved for from my husbands prior deployment). I cried so hard. She had no idea what was going on with my son's health or in our lives. I guess people on assistance should be unclean and dress in rags? For the duration, I only purchased WIC items at commissary. This was during wartime also on top of it all. A little grace and perspective helps us all.

We have a very interesting collector corvette. We were at an event and valet parking parked it next to a sporty porsche, at the entrance to the venue. Spindly young women with over sized high heels were lining up to have pictures taken with our car. We felt so "used".
