Very helpful video. Question. What do you do if the salad pieces are larger than bite size? I have often gotten salads with large lettuce pieces. It is less elegant to try to shove a giant piece of lettuce in your mouth.

There is this to GRglor “miss Susanne” her name is who’s talking badly about Anna. She did her video in german language. I’ve learnt so much from Anna and don’t like the way she speaks about her.

Thank you as well! 🙂💞💐💐💐 I couldn't agree more about the sandwich. I have been doing what you just presented, and some people laugh or stare at me. But, I don't care, because I know, elegance is always the best thing a person can poses. Fortunately, I don't drink much wine, just in few occasions, three, four times a year, maybe. I have to admit that I am doing it wrong, have been doing it wrong for years. I keep watching videos, especially yours to catch up on my few mistakes.

Hi Anna do you mind making a video on how an affluent lady hold/carry different types of bags.

Dear Anna, thank you for this lovely video! The sound effects are personally not my favourite but the subtitles are a great idea! Please keep them
I was raised with Impecable manners, and it’s true that most people do not follow them. It shocked me the amount of adults that only eat with the fork, in the right hand. The nose one makes me feel like I want to throw up, and people that place their paper napkin inside the plate 😳 There is another one that drives me insane: people that place all their objects on the table once they arrive.
I saw something recently that was ridiculously amusing in a restaurant. A young lady was having a meal with her boyfriend. Its the way she used her knife and fork. She cut the meat with her right hand, then changed the fork to her right hand to continue eating. In my opinion, and I think in yours too Anna, this is totally taboo. Never seen anything like it before. 😄
😱😅 so right
What if the salad 🥗 leaves are huge ???? Is there a way to handle this ? (♡ your videos)
Ah! Break the bread first. Makes sense. I dont want to tell you what I was doing. 😕
Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
This is the kind of content we need
We learned all these rules regarding "elegant ladies" at finishing school, all these rules are also passed on from mother to daughters is part of one's background even for boys.
Hahaha i need to born again lol
Thid was so funny lmaoo the way you express everything and the background sound effects HAHA
My mom is truly an elegant woman, she taught me all these things.
I like eating my chicken with my hands 🤣
Your hair looks so great!!!!
Who else loves the introduction: “my dear elegant ladies”? 🤩
Can you make a video about your nails?
I've seen these 'don'ts' addressed in modern articles and videos as well as in one of my favorite social guidance films: 1945's 'The Dinner Party'. That film cites some of these errors, such as not spreading your dinner bread or roll all at once, but the film also says that larger salad greens and bigger pieces of tomato may be cut for less awkward eating. (I personally never cut my lettuce because I never saw family members do it.) But they're all great timeless tips that are there for reasons of orderly/efficient serving, elegance, and courtesy for fellow diners.
🤣🤣 The shade... but good information.
What do you do when the salad leaves are so large that to eat them whole without cutting, you would have to open your mouth very wide and risk having the food smear around your mouth? wouldn't cutting the salad into smaller bits so you can take more elegant bites be preferable?
My nose always runs when am eating means I'll spend the whole meal time in the bathroom 😂😫😂
I love your blouse. Can you tell me where you got it? Thank you
From a man's perspective: Honestly, men don't care about any of this stuff, but #4 is respectful of all humans. Only women who are judging other women care about this so they can seem superior compared to the woman they are criticizing. And if you are a woman who spends her time at a gathering judging other women and their etiquette, that means you are not authentically being present and attentive to the people or person who you did come with.
Thank you soooo much 🤗☺️
Thank you for the video and my only question do we have to ask our partner for more water it just do it?
The tittle should be: The BIG no no on Table Etiquette for Elegant Ladies. But it's a fun video💙💜
I really like this video. I really want to improve myself to behave better, so thank you for making this video.
Trouble is...sometimes they don't bother to cut the salad before I get it. I have on occasion got the whole iceburg leaf!
Lettuce ... What if it is too big to eat in a normal bite? Just leave it, I'm guessing?
sometimes the salad leaves are too big too eat...
Thank you for including the wine holding. I always cringe when I see this in American movies. The wine will warm up faster that's not what we intend to do. I would love you going into depth and explain why we should not do certain things... Well of course some are self explenetory like the nose thing. Thank you for educating us!
Hallo! Anybody knows where to place a bag when in a restaurant? It was only twice when there was a special bench for it, many thanks!
My mother sent me to a school of elegance that taught me so many things about good manners, good posture and "refinement". These schools/training courses don't seem to exist anymore. Congratulations to Anna for resurrecting this and providing relevant worthwhile information. Thank you.
wait!!!!.. we can't cut salad... but it's okay break table bread into small bite size piece? whyyy..
Please do more on table etiquette.
'go to the bathroom for anything related to the nose....lol!' erm.....don't forget the £50 note or do elegant ladies use a silver 'snorter' lol joking. like your vids, I'm an inelegant man
I ALWAYS refer to the bathroom as the lady's room. At work, at home, anywhere. Are we bathing, or are we taking care of discretionary intimacies? Yes this is a pet peeve of mine.
Really good tips Anna, love these types of videos. One question, should the waiter always ask and serve ladies before gentlemen? By using these simple etiquette rules, you behave like a very well brought up lady and this is noticed by the people that you meet.x 😊
Hmmm but she didn't teach the whole clock thing with your utensils. I forget what it's called cause I was taught it young by my ancient grandma but how you set your fork and knife by mimicing time on the clock let's the waiter know when your done and etc.
I have a question about holding the wine glass....I have difficulty with my hands, often needing to use both hands to grip the goblet part of the wine glass, not the stem. Should I just totally avoid wine or could this improper thing be overlooked under the circumstances? I am older, just getting back to dating and before the shutdown I had a couple dates where I made lots of mistakes!!!
And if the lettuce pieces are huge....just shove them in your mouth ? Getting dressing on your chin? Pfft
I Like your nose
I knew most but not about the placement of wine glass. Thank you. This is helpful for a formal banquet with people from work. Background looks like you're near the port at Nice. Great place to quarantine :)
Hahahahahahaha i hear your voice now that i go out eating 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" Don't cut the salad!!! Don't cut it ' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The tissue thing kills me, I live in Italy and I see people pulling their nose everywhere, it's something normally accepted here, I was so shocked at the beginning then I learned it myself too, go back home..., did it in front of my mum instinctly, and here she is.....:))), thank you mom, for that day, I've never repeated it again.
Who in their right minds would reapply lipstick or liptint or whatever in front of a meal while eating with someone (especially in a public place) ? 🤣
I was very blessed to have a mother who taught me to have elegant manners. Most ladies do not
OMG, really? Those are things my mum told me when I was just 10 years old. The only problem I have is wine glass as I have very small hands. The rest especially the bread. Make up and way of eating. You are so right. I am going to call mum to say thank you.
How eat elegant lady burger or pizza (some foods eating with hands)?
I don’t think ANYBODY should put their tissue on their food
In fact, generally it’s allowed to the married women to put their elbows on the table while having a conversation (and holding a glass). And initially this posture allowed a woman being able to demonstrate the wealth of her husband on her hands 😉...), but nowadays this rule is rather being neglected. I suppose it’s a good idea to explain why the exact rule is applied - it’s easy to remember based on arguments. Thank you for you very much for your work, Ana🤗! PS most of the etiquette rules are made to make our life easier and more comfortable, not being confused with other people and exactly to avoid the unpleasant and awkward situations, and for sure not to make our life and socializing harder
Love your videos ,from Algeria
I feel like the majority of these don’t necessarily just apply to ladies or the affluent. Proper dining and table etiquette are never out of fashion and I think are often overlooked in the times we live in. Being able to present and carry yourself appropriately in any social setting or circle, despite your background will take you far.
I have learned so much in such a short time!
Anna are you still hiring for your blog?
Please tell how to eat burger by elegant lady special in date with some.
Also don’t take your napkin off your lap until you are leaving the table for good, not directly after finishing a meal. And if you are leaving the table but going to return leave it on your chair seat.
It is actually perfectly appropriate to apply lipstick only at the table as long as it is done discreetly.
I go between "that's common sense duh" to "ooooh ok ✍🏾"
My mother in law is so particular when it comes to table manners yet she blew her nose at the table. That, to me, is probably the most important rule!
My mom did a good job. All this is normal, everyday table manners to me! But I do see the things you point out, Ana, and they...gross me out, quite frankly (I am secretly happy I can say this here without sounding too uppity😌).
1:04 That's interesting! As Gloria Starr, the world renowned Etiquette Consultant, states the exact opposite if the leaves are too big to be eaten whole! In her video: 'Dining Etiquette When Having a Salad'. She advises if the salad is too big to eat solely with a fork, it is perfectly acceptable to eat the salad in the Continental/European style. I suppose it all depends how big your mouth is!😄
Rule No 1 that somehow got overlooked: no-one, not ladies, elegant ladies or anyone else, should be staring at their mobile phone or madly texting while at the table with other people. It is absolutely the height of rudeness but so many people do it these days.
Thank you from Algeria we need more videos like this
Great video
I think the worst is leaving the tissiue on the plate after blowing your nose in it. It's super disgusting and I can't imagine how awful it is to the waitress, who is made to pick the tissue and clean the plate.
This was really good! I love that you talked about the blowing nose-issue, so many do it and I always found it horrible!
Anna! You are so FUNNY! I love your sound effects. Your elegance and humor make you even more beautiful! Thank you for all your energy and love. 💗
The glass of wine goes to the external side wrt the glass of water
I love how there were 10 things mentioned in 3 mins! 💕
If for some reason you are reading this, can you please tell me who determines the objective truth behind Affluence, Lady Like or Chivalry? And a follow up question, why are those who determine the rules right ? Is the game made only for the ones who would willingly participate or for all people ?
I love love love your videos. I learn a lot. Before, I just watch. Now, I decided to follow you, that's why I subscribed. I am not rich and of course not a social climber. But I define elegance as very lady-like. I want to look feminine from head to foot and watching your videos is the best way to learn. Thank you and more power to you.
Salad leaves are so large and difficult to eat sometimes, how do you elegantly eat a salad without looking like you're stuffing your face?
Who's been spying on me and seeing me eat spaghetti out of a ziplock for this to be recommended?? 😩
🌙🌙🌙🌙
The makeup one is such a pet peeve of mine. Not just at the dining table but also on the plane, when you talk to someone etc.
100 Years from now none of you will matter
To my belief napkin is normally placed on the left side at the beginning and should be placed on the right side after a meal. Same rule as when the food is served from a left side and taken away from a right side. I liked the video very much. It was perfectly ‘to the point’
Does elegent ladies notice other people that what they r doing or how they are eating.?
Omg, is this a joke? Who are you to say what people should do?
I don't know when or how I learned these, but evidently I'm elegant when dining and had no clue! Yay!
You forgot to add to not use swear words and also the cellphone at the table. I swear I seen this happening many times and it just makes me obnoxious.
Ohhh, this is great!!! I miss to see more elegant ladies in social places!!! So much have changed in last 10 years.... !!!! 😎 🤩 😎 🤩 😎 🤩 😎 🤩 😎 🤩
Dont even think that you are getting away from these rules just because you're a man. It is universal etiquette, gentlemen!
You look beautiful as ever Anna! The palm tree looks like a fascinator, could you do a video on fascinators?
Being elegant seems hard
You’re the best, omg. Thanks you so much! ✨💕✨💕✨
I'm feeling lucky right now, I already knew all these dining etiquettes since I was a young girl...I don't get how certain people still don't realize how to behave in determine circumstances 😅
Thank you for your truly precious advices 😊 I still have a doubt: can I cut tomatoes in salad?
Gotta love how there's a lesson on how to not be your true self every where you look🙈😅 cuz yeah.. Lying to not only your partner on who you truly are but lying to yourself also is now the new craze😛😝😜 shall we be followers? 🤔
Hi Anna! Would you mind sharing the name and brand of the lipstick you applied? I absolutely love the color. Also great video!
Thank you for the grant! Education is so needed in so many areas of life.
Holding the wine glass by the bowl changes the temperature of the wine. The stem is there for a reason.
you forgot the hair! You NEVER do your hair, or play with your hair when you are at a dinner party or especially in a restaurant! It's very poor taste and disrespectful to the other guests because a hair may fall on their food. You should never be fixing your hairdo or doing a ponytail, etc, etc. on the table always go to the bathroom! small things like tucking your hair behind your ear are fine.
Omg number 9!!!! My pet peave it’s so nasty and inconsiderate
In aristocratic/noble families there are 2 Things allowed of the ones you show as a no go.
''You may look French''? Sorry but French people who drink a lots of wine always hold the glass by the stamp because the heat from your hand could alterate the taste of your wine, that's why the glasses are made that way. So, please!
Wow so I'm an elegant lady.
It was all good until the last part when the tissue went on the finished plate! I do that x/ no more I guess
the background looks magnificent
Never seen any lady hold a wine glass like that. This must be a not so elegant town 😆
